Jailed for satirical post, hospitalised, and now granted bail
Defence analyst Abhijit Iyer-Mitra posted satirical tweets about the Konark temple in Orissa. He was subsequently arrested by the police on a wide array of charges. His bail pleas have been rejected by the lower court as well as the Supreme Court but now the Orissa Assembly has pardoned him.
He has been in custody since October 24 for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the people of Odisha.
