Reporter found out he was tracked after he reported scam

A reporter with The Hindu, S Vijay Kumar, writes that while he was trying to protect his sources, a retired government officials had tried to find out the source of the information. The said official seemed aware of the police officers that the reporter had spoken to. This shows that affected officials had tracked his phone calls after he had exposed the corruption scam.

Innovative media protest in Chhattisgarh

Reporters in Chhattisgarh adopted a unique form of protest against violence at Chhattisgarh state headquarters of the BJP.

According to a Facebook post by journalist Awesh Tiwari (his FB profile shows he’s a news editor with Rajasthan Patrika’s Raipur edition), the journalists donned motorcycling helmets as a mark of protest against the violence. The post went ‘viral’ on social media sites

Times group ignores injured stringer in Kashmir

Associated Press photojournalist Altaf Qadri tweeted that a photojournalist, attached with the Times group as a stringer, was in need of financial and medical assistance.

Bilal Bahadur has been injured during an assignment for a Timea group publication. Qadri pointed out that his being a stringer did not absolve the Times Group of their responsibility towards the photographer’s needs.
